The Azerbaijani-Israeli deal could undermine confidence in U.S. policy in Armenia
Azerbaijani media reports that Baku is going to purchase a SkyDew radar balloon from Israel.
It is said that the largest Skype radar balloon system was developed by the department of "Homa" ("Wall") in the Office for the Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructures (MAPAT) in conjunction with the US Missile Defense Administration (MDA).
Since the system was developed by Israel jointly with the United States, it will most likely require Washington's consent.
It is known that Washington is making efforts to tame Azerbaijan's expansionist appetites. The Armenian public will follow the progress of this Azerbaijani-Israeli deal and draw conclusions - is the United States really interested in preserving peace in the South Caucasus or does it consider Armenia just as a tool in their confrontation with Russia.
